It's
been an exciting season for the Winsalot family. Vickie
Honeycutt made several nice shows with Squash Creek this year.
We're very pleased with their progress considering at this time
last year Squash Creek was weaning a foal.
Katie Condit purchased Preordained a year ago to show in
her last season as a juvenile. They had a wonderful show
season. Katie recently purchased Mohegan Sun from
Richardson Stables. "Sun" will be trimmed over the winter
for Katie to show in the Amateur classes next year. The new
"Sun" makes it where the former "Son" is looking for a new
family. Preordained has been successful in Country
Pleasure, Show Pleasure, under saddle and in harness. He's
very easy to work around and would make the perfect
Christmas present.
Karon Bowdre's Juliette Farms breeding program was well represented at the Kentucky State Fair. Juliette's Phantom Stock was 3rd in the yearling breeder's stake. Phantom, who is by Select Stock and out of Wild Sara, was sold during the Decatur horse show to Rick Cook of Cox's Creek Kentucky. Congratulations are also in order for Courtney Huguley, who picked out Merciless for her daughter Reagan to show in Equitation next year. Seems Reagan couldn't wait for next year, so she showed him in Decatur to win her age group and the Equitation championship. Reagan's barnmate, Brittany Keff, recently received the sporty gelding High Time's Top Choice to show next year. Pam Specht chose the broodmare Lady Longlegs for Patricia Misko of Clio MI. Trip Stewart was the former owner of this nice mare who sold in foal to Select Stock.
There were a few more horses sold during the Decatur horse
show, but due to the upcoming Holiday, they must remain
secret.
The resident breeding stallion at Winsalot, Select Stock made history this year. His oldest foal, Five O'Clock was the winner of the Five-Gaited World's Grand Championship. Research shows that Select Stock is the youngest sire of a World Grand Champion in any division. Please look for ads starting with the October issue of the American Saddlebred magazine with pictures taken by Heathermoor's own Alexis Braswell. Five O'Clock's dam, Long Island Iced Tea also resides at Winsalot. She is owned by Trip Stewart and is due to foal a full sibling to Five O'Clock in February. |
Congratulations to Vickie Honeycutt on the purchase of Squash Creek from Linda Fisher. Vickie saw "Molly" at a show a few years ago and never forgot her. Look for them in the Amateur/Ladies 3 gaited division.
Katie Condit is the new owner of Preordained. She will be showing him in Juvenile Show Pleasure. You may also see him with Katie's mom, Kay, in the pleasure driving classes.
Mary and Johnny Smith are the proud new owners of My Genius' Dream A Spell. We're excited about breeding this cute red roan filly to Select Stock.
Kelvin and Debi Talley are the new owners of Sheila O'Shea and her top notch foal, Jimmie Frank, by Select Stock. She's a wonderful mom and she's back in foal to Select Stock. Jimmie Frank has given them hours of entertainment with his "horse shows".
